Pool Monitor Annoucement & Updated Pool Schedule Starting June 14th

Pool Monitor Annoucement & Updated Pool Schedule Starting June 14th

Hey everybody! If you had a chance to read through the June Signal, hopefully you saw the news about the county removing the Pool Monitor requirement for public pools starting next week. In response to this, we are happy to announce that starting June 14th, we will have all pools seven days out of the week! We are also able to expand the hours:

Side Pools

Every Monday through Sunday: 9am to 7pm

Main Pool

Monday through Friday: 1pm to 7pm (closed Wednesday 6/16 for WCST home meet)
Every Saturday & Sunday: 9am to 7pm

We are working on expanding the hours even further and should have additional updates in the coming week or two. There is a good chance the above schedule may change around the end of June – at the very least, we would like to open all pools earlier most days out of the week. Our goal is to open the pools as early as possible for lap swimmers, and close the pools later into the evening while the sun is still out and the weather is agreeable. Keep your eyes peeled for an update shortly!

We are also planning on making the Main Pool available in the mornings for lap swimming during WCST practices. There will be an announcement via eSignal and on the HOA website as soon as that is confirmed. We hope to have the up and running before the end of the month, but hopefully sooner!

We will continue to utilize Pool Monitors on site as eyes and ears on the ground and to open/close the pools daily, but the Association is no longer required to maintain a Pool Monitor in order for the pools to remain open. Starting next week, we will have a single monitor rotating between all three pools, responding to homeowner complaints, enforcing the HOA’s existing rules, and just having an Association staff member on site for any issues that may come up during the most trafficked hours of the day/week.

The county has officially lifted its requirement for masks to be worn at outdoor pool facilities or for the enforcement of social distancing. However, we would like to respectfully ask that residents remain courteous and try stay distanced whenever possible. Monitors will continue to wear masks around the pool area. If the pools are particularly crowded or staying distanced is difficult, mask wearing for non-swimmers is encouraged!

We are also planning on putting the pool furniture back out no later than Monday, June 21st. Until the 21st (or whenever an announcement is made) please continue to bring your own furniture. We might be able to get it out early next week, but worst case it will be out by the 21st! We will update the HOA website as soon as that changes ?

Thanks again to all residents for your patience and understanding as we’ve worked through these challenges. I am working hard with the Board to make sure that all of the CHOA pools are open as long as possible!

-Bill, CHOA GM
