Welcome New Homeowners

Walnut Country is a community of 1,062 single-family homes in Concord, California. Our community is located at the foothills of Mount Diablo, between Walnut Creek and Clayton. The Cowell Homeowners Association is managed by Common Interest Management Services. The Cowell Homeowners Association is led by an elected Board of Directors. Walnut Country is also home to the Stingrays Swim Club.

Our amenities include three swimming pools, eight tennis courts, a clubhouse, a privately-run preschool, two playgrounds, basketball courts, and a dog park. Take a tour of our community here.

Our community began in the mid-70s and is uniquely designed with many cul-de-sac streets. These cul-de-sacs end along our one-mile Greenbelt paved walkway that does not cross any streets. This walkway runs between our East and West entrances and passes our playgrounds, pools, tennis courts, and Clubhouse.

Walnut Country was known for the tall smokestack in the center of our community; a remnant of the Cowell Cement Plant that was here before the homes were built. The smokestack was removed in 2009 because it was structurally unsafe. For more information, visit our History page.

If you have any questions about our proud and active community, feel free to contact our General Manager at businessoffice@walnutcountry.com or 925.687.9961.
