Our Pickleball Courts Committee will be conducting short tests on upper tennis court #3 and #4 in October to gather information about sound and feedback from neighbors on Oakbrook and Lawson Courts.
The tests will take place on Sunday, October 11, at 9:00 a.m. and Saturday, October 17, at 5:00 p.m. and will last 60-90 minutes. Please be aware tennis court #3 and #4 will not be available for other play during the tests.
Signs have been posted at the entrance to these courts and the online calendar has been updated to reflect these trial times. (You can always see the most up-to-date tennis court calendar here: www.walnutcountry.com/tennis)
The committee plans to use information gathered to help prepare recommendations for our CHOA Board to consider for actions to help mitigate sound caused by pickleball play. No permanent action or decisions regarding pickleball and tennis will ever take place outside of a regular board meeting, which must be noticed at least 4 days in advance. So if you are interested in this topic, keep an eye out on future board meeting agendas or feel free to give the General Manager a call before any meeting to get a better understanding of what topics are being discussed at an upcoming meeting!
