In response to the current heat wave, as of this morning we have turned on the heaters for both the East and West pools for the 2026 swim season!
The water temperature for both pools is currently around 80 degrees and all pool furniture has been put out.
The Swim Team’s Spring Clinic is currently taking place at the Main Pool, Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 7pm. You can view the CHOA and WCST pool schedules online here: https://walnutcountry.com/facilities/pools/
The morning water aerobics classes will move to the East Pool starting Monday, March 30th. There will be one more full week of classes at the Main Pool. Aerobics classes take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10am. Visit https://walnutcountry.com/wateraerobics/ for more information.
The West Pool is still seeing some goose and duck activity, mostly on a small portion of the deck and inside the pool near the steps. We have staff cleaning this area out daily (and more often than not twice a day), but unfortunately these birds can make a huge mess in a very short time. In our experience, the birds usually leave once the pools are consistently busy with swimmers. Unfortunately the goose/duck deterrents we tried out this year (holographic/shiny tape tied around the fencing, decoy coyotes, fake swans, and reflective spinners) were not effective. We will continue doing our best to keep the pool and pool deck clean, but in about 10 minutes, two geese can make it look like no one has cleaned the pool in a week!
